ARTISTTanmaya Bingham is an artist based in Melbourne, Australia, working in mixed media, who was born in Washington DC but grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico in the United States. Tanmaya's childhood in Santa Fe, her education (both formal and informal), her extensive travels, and experience of various spiritual practices, have impacted how she creates and views the world as a dialogue between the seen and the unseen. For Tanmaya there is no distinction between her art and any other spiritual practice.

Tanmaya melds mystical and realistic styles together into one style, which she calls Mysticalrealism. Mysticalrealism embodies characteristics of Surrealism, Magic Realism, Realism, and other styles whilst maintaining its own distinctive identity.
THEMES
Tanmaya is dedicated to creating artworks that communicate the unraveling and unraveled psychological issues and situational issues that we face on a universal and personal level as multi-sensory human beings living in today's society. Her works are narratives with images that are laden with symbolism and icons extracted from visions and mementos from her life.
